Has it been a week already? Wow! Where did the time go?
I don’t know about you, but last week was so busy, especially with the WANA1011 Blogfest Awards.
Wasn’t that amazing? I just want to thank everyone for their wonderful participation that helped make it such a great success!
Well, let’s take a look at how I did last week…
Goals for Round 1:
1– Work on my current WIP five days a week.
2– Check in with Donna Newton at WWBC once a week.
Well, unfortunately I can’t say that I worked on my WIP for five days. I did check in with Donna more than once. I’m still trying to narrow down a few more plot ideas before jumping back into writing the remainder of the first draft.
3– Participate in my online class to help authors balance writing and business with Bob Mayer.
The class just received our first assignment on Friday, so there wasn’t any participation except for our initial introduction into the class. All I can say is this is going to be an incredible class.
4– Blog at least once a week.
I’m happy to say that I did achieve this goal. In fact I posted three blogs if my ROW80 check-in counts as a blog. Whew. Back to my original plan this week.
5– Visit and support 5 bloggers per day.
Check. Did that and more. And found some wonderful blog posts by the way.
6– Tweet at least once per day.
Check. Did that more than once per day.
7– Exercise on my elliptical twice a week.
Well, uh…Nada. That didn’t happen. I didn’t even get a walk in last week. Say what?
I know, I know. I am so disappointed. Every time I turned around there was something demanding my attention.
So I’m now looking forward to a fresh new week.
Whew, okay I did it. That wasn’t really so bad. And I’m not alone. There are others that are right beside me to help me along the way. So that I don’t irritate my wonderful supportive subscribers, feel free to delete my ROW80 posts if they start to irritate you. They probably won’t be all that interesting, unless…
Unless I can temp you all to join us over at the party at ROW80! Feel free to jump in anytime. See you there! 🙂
So what do you think? How did I do? I wasn’t able to meet all my goals, but are you all still behind me? Can I still count on your support?
Awe, thanks guys! I knew I could count on you!
Karen.
You’re goals rock! How are they going?
Ali Dent recently posted..Life in the Mist of the Plan
Hi Ali! I’m sorry, I just found you in spam. Thank you. I hope I gave myself something good to work towards. There going. I’m only posting them once a week because I just have too many other things in my life the take precedence. But i’m working on them one day at a time. Thanks so much for asking and for your support! I really appreciate it! 🙂
Yay. Happy writing Karen 🙂

Thank you for your support Coleen! 🙂
Of course we’re still behind you! LOL You might not have accomplished all you wanted to, but you still accomplished a lot, and that’s worth celebrating! Keep up the good work! Oh, and see if you can find a way to read while on the elliptical – that works wonders for me! After all, authors need to read, right?
Jennette Marie Powell recently posted..ROW80: Something that Helped
Thank you Jennette! And I have to say that you did awesome yourself! I don’t know about reading on that machine. Sounds dangerous, but I’ll have to give it a try! 🙂
Love your goals, and congrats on reaching so many of them. Sounds like overall you had a busy, productive week!
Thank you Julie for coming by and supporting me! You’re super cool! Thanks and nice to meet you! 🙂
Sounds like you had a really good week, Karen! Even without the elliptical. You might give this a try if walks and workouts are a little tough to make time for right now. I TRY (and fail more often than not) to get up for 5 minutes every hour. I’ll either walk from my office to my front door several times during those minutes, march in place or play on my balance board. On a day when I’m really trying hard, that’s 1 hour and 10 minutes of exercise, even if it was broken up over the entire day. 🙂
What a terrific idea Kristy! Thank you for that suggestion! See, I needed you to drop by today! You’re awesome. You keep up the good work yourself girl! Thank you! 🙂
Glad I could help. I wanted to buy a timer today so I could set it to keep me on track, but I wanted just a simple turn the dial and ding kind of timer and the store I went to only had digital. So I’m going to the other one tomorrow. Timers really work for me. 🙂
Kristy K. James recently posted..And the Award Goes to…Me?!
Can you believe what this world has come to? You can’t even buy a simple timer. Have fun trying to buy one that’s not digital Kristy. The whole world has gone digital! But I want you to know that I did get a walk in today! Yes! Thanks for the suggestion! 🙂
Fantastic week Karen. You are doing great and I have no doubt you’ll nail even more goals in the week ahead!!

Hi Emma! Thank you so much for coming by to support me. That title cracks me up baby! What a hoot! I love your confidence! 🙂
It was a busy week and you are also starting the new class (btw, I would love to hear more!). So give yourself a big pat on the back for all that you accomplished this past week.
Angela Orlowski-Peart recently posted..Blog Award Nominations
Thank you Angela! I really appreciate the pat on the back. I’m trying to find my groove as Melinda says. And I will share all the good stuff with ya about Bob’s class. 🙂
No worries, Karen – sometimes it takes awhile to find your stride. You’ll get there, I promise!! I can’t wait to hear about Bob’s class – I think I’d like to take it this summer, but didn’t want to overwhelm myself as Shafer # 4’s arrival comes closer.
Good luck this week! Cheering you on, sweetie!!
Myndi Shafer recently posted..ROW80: Check in, Week 01
Oh Myndi, you are so awesome! That’s exactly what I needed to hear! Stride, I’ll be looking for it! lol And yes, I’ll keep you informed on Bob’s class. It is amazing! 🙂
You know if it were easy to complete all goals, then you wouldn’t be aiming high enough! I say you’re doing just fine. Just like folks are saying to me, it takes time to get the rhythm and groove of things. And yep, I too let the exercise fall off the bandwagon. I told myself if I actively worked on my WIP it counts as part of the goal even if I didn’t write any actual words. Sometimes, you have to step back and think about it, which you did. I say that’s a win 🙂
Melinda recently posted..And We’re Off to a Crawling Start
Get into the groove! I like that one Melinda. See, your not the only one that said I need to get into a rhythm. Oh and the exercise thing don’t get me started on that. I love to take walks and get on my elliptical, but I have some health issues that sometimes prevent me from pushing it. So this weeks a new start. We’ll see. Thank you Melinda for your support! 🙂
Nicely set goals Karen! I like the way you reported on them too. 🙂 Adore your graphic! She is great! I think working the exercise in can be the hardest for us writers. I know it has been for me these last few months. Maybe, together, with Row80 at our backs we’ll be able to get on the right track. Looking forward to watching you progress here and seeing you in class.
Debra Kristi recently posted..Dancin’ to the Row80 Train with Walken #1
Thank you Debra! You’re always encouraging! And thanks for the graphic compliment. Yes, she’s fun! Yep it’s another new week ahead of us and exercise is on the agenda again. See you in class! 🙂
You did wonderful, Karen. What I love about this challenge is that even though we might not make our goals every week, we have the encouragement from others to continue to strive to meet the goals. Plus, there is the public reporting to ensure we don’t quit. LOL!
Good luck with the upcoming week!
SheilaSeabrook recently posted..ROW80: Week 1 Checkin
LOL Sheila! It’s the public reporting that makes me want to crawl underneath my bed! But please know that I really appreciate all your support and encouragement because you did great this week Sheila! 🙂
You did really well for such a busy week, Karen! Once you get into a rhythm, it’ll get even easier.
Nice “kicking and screaming” logo 🙂
Fabio Bueno recently posted..ROW80 – Update 2
You think? Well thanks Fabio, I needed to hear that. A rhythm, is that what it is. Oh Fabio, I’ll look forward to working into somthing. But it might take a while with Hubby’s surgery coming up next week. I’m just trying to keep my sanity! lol 🙂
Hi Karen, I didn’t meet all my goals either, but that’s Ok. I got more done than I would have done otherwise and I’ll bet you did too. So, let’s link arms and take next week by the horns. 🙂
Prudence MacLeod recently posted..ROW80 Check-in #2
I’m linking arms Prudence! Thanks for the support! 🙂
I like your goals here, because they’re small and therefore do-able. Sometimes when we set goals too high, we set ourselves up to not reach them in the allotted time. So kudos to you, and happy writing!
Joanne recently posted..Snow Reads
Thank you Joanne for your encouragement! And very nice to meet you too! Well, I try not to set my goals to out there for fear of failure. I’m playing it safe. lol 🙂
